What should I say to my ex that just got in a car accident?

I just found out that my ex-boyfriend and two of my really good friends got in a big car accident last night, but thank goodness they're all ok. My ex and I broke up a month ago today and we haven't talked since the day we broke up. I really want to send him a message, but I don't know what to say. I've already contacted my friends, but I want to contact him too. The relationship ended as amicably as it could have, but we were taking time apart from each other before talking and I think this is the time to break the silence. Help???
