Would your cholesterol go down if you took 40mgs of Zocor for a week straight?

My Cholesterol is consistently between 170-203 for the past ten years. When ever I go for blood work, even if it's at 170, my doctor gets on my case that it's too high. I'm SO frustrated about this, (High Cholesterol, High BP nor diabetes run in my family, no heart disease...only cancer.) I have to go for a physical next week, they do blood work a week prior so the results are there. I took my husbands 40mg of Zocor for a solid week before the blood work....do you think that will make a difference and get my doctor off my back? I don't know what else to do, he drives me nuts with these unrealistic expectations. I eat healthy, exercise and am in excellent health for a woman in her 50's
